Ken worked both in plainclothes and later uniform, ‘flash as a rat with a gold tooth’ even in uniform he always wore gold rings and bracelets. He told a yarn once about when he first went to plain clothes. He got into a lift with a Det Supt (I think he said it was at Central when the CIB was there). The boss looked at him and said, “Do you like plainclothes son?” Ken said, “Certainly do sir” and the boss said, “Well why don’t you f**ken wear em!!” Ken thought it was hilarious. Good bloke and a good copper (for a detective) haha RIP Ken
Goldfinger was the equivalent of the Education officer, Darlinghurst Police Station, in the early 80’s.
