Very little is known about this man, at this time – other than he was a Cadet Instructor at the Redfern Police Academy in the 1970’s and was known as Heavy Kevin or Heavy Kevvy.  He was a very funny man and willing to give the Cadets time and advise over the years.

  1. Sergeant Kevin Johnson was my law instructor at Redfern Police Academy in 1977. He was a genuinely nice man as Ken Jurotte has written. I don’t know much more about Kevin unfortunately

  2. No cadet would ever call him ‘Heavy Kevvy’ to his face of course. I had Sgt Johnson as a cadet instructor and again during the Const.1/c Course. A friendly and genuinely nice bloke. Lost track after the Con1/c Course. Very sad to hear that he’s passed. RIP Sarge.
