Two 15-year-old Geelong boys had to be rescued from the cliffs below Narooma Golf Course on Monday. Adrian Farrow and Damien Mahoney were rescued by Constable Alan Mulhall and officers of the Narooma SES. Also on Monday, Michael Kintares, 49, was rescued, unconscious, from the sea off Dalmeny beach. He is now recovering in Moruya Hospital.
I worked with Allan Mulhall at Eastwood HWP and found him a terrific offsider. He always had your back, he was smart and knew his job. I recall I was driving a 2 door GT Falcon HWP vehicle responding to a Signal 1 at the ‘Sawdust Hotel’ in Gladesville. At speed in the rain on afternoon shift. We turned left from Top Ryde shops onto Victoria Road when I lost it in the wet. We ended up on the incorrect side of Victoria Road and, thankfully, not a car in sight. Back onto the right side of the road and off to the job. Neither of us said a word at the time we just sort of looked at each other. Sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Allan.
