Syd Workman was a Detective Inspector at Wollongong in the early 1970’s as part of his career.

In 1937 his residence was recorded as Police Deport, Bourke St, Redfern

In 1942 he married at Marrickville, NSW

In 1943 he and Ruby Isabel, lived at 3 Pearce St, Randwick South, NSW

In 1954 he and Ruby lived at 5 Bedford Pl, Coogee South, NSW

In 1977 he and Ruby lived at 9/24 Trafalgar St, Brighton-Le_Sands, NSW

 

 

In the Supplement to the London Gazette, dated 1st January 1976, he is mentioned under the State of New South Wales:  Sydney Claude WORKMAN, Superintendent, 3rd Class, New South Wales Police Force

Passed away peacefully Brisbane, August 22, 2012, aged 96 years.

Dearly loved husband of Tissa (deceased), loved father and father-in-law of Max and Margot, Joanne and Hans, loving grand- father of Glenn and Nicole, Jen, Yvette (deceased), Russell and Brooke, great-grandfather of Jackson.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service for SYD in the Centenary Memorial Gardens Chapel, Wacol Station Road, Sumner, Brisbane, on Wednesday (August 29, 2012) at 10 a.m.
