Heart Attack
Murwillumbah

On 12 July, 1945 Sergeant Eisenhuth, the Officer-in-Charge of the Murwillumbah Police Station, attended a local hotel to assist one of his constables who was having difficulty arresting a large and troublesome offender. When the sergeant arrived the offender was subdued and taken to the police station, despite his resisting and struggling all the way. On arrival the sergeant went to his office to get the cell keys, collapsed and died. He was found to have suffered a heart attack caused by exertion during the arrest.
The sergeant was born in 1892 and joined the New South Wales Police Force on 28 February, 1914. At the time of his death he was stationed at Murwillumbah.
